HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012!!

Happy new year! In this post I will be updating my progress and revealing my targets for the year. Music Mondays will be returning next week.

Firstly, what I have been doing since my last post.

I have been working on two things:

• An untitled Harry Potter fanfiction, which is on hold at the moment


• Sticks and Stones, a boy/boy retelling of Beauty and the Beast, whuch is my current project

The Final Stroke has been abandoned. Now for my targets for the year, as of now, complete with dates.

1. Finish the first draft of Sticks and Stones (Febuary 29th)


2. Prepare to write a screenplay for Script Frenzy (March)


3. Do Script Frenzy (April)


4. Write the second draft of Sticks and Stones (June 5th - my 20th birthday!)


5. Send Sticks and Stones out to betas (June)


6. Prepare to write my projects for Camp Wrimo (June)


7. Do Camp Wrimo (July and August)


8. Edit the first of my Camp Wrimo projects (September 30th)


9. Prepare to do NaNoWriMo (October)


10. Do NaNoWriMo (November)


11. Edit the second of my Camp WriMo projects (December 31st)

Here's hoping I can do it!

My New Novel: Electric Dreamer

I am about to start a new novel called Electric Dreamer. This is the blurb:

Amber, Scarlett, Maddie, Beth and Paige are best friends. And a band. Electric Dreamer. This novel follows them as: Amber tries to get over her ex, Ryan; Scarlett tries to discover what's really going on with her boyfriend, Tom; Maddie tries to get together with her best friend and crush of five years, Ed; Beth tries to get a boyfriend; and Paige tries to find out who she really is.

It started life as a novella written in first person, but after getting feedback and being told it wasn't very good, I put it in the trunk. Now I am going to rewrite it as a novel in third person.

My New Novel

Okay, so last night, I started a new novel, which I will be writing alongside Suns and Stars, until I finish Suns and Stars, which will hopefully be by New Year. It is called Firework. This is the blurb:

Will is a 15 year old schoolboy. Bullied by the so-called cool kids for being weird, struggles with his schoolwork and rejection by his crush makes Will feel that his whole life is utterly pointless. He is bitten, and becomes a vampire. Eventually, he realises that he is worth it and begins to plot his revenge...

It is told in first person from Will's POV and I am hoping that it'll be full of dark humour, while still being lighthearted in parts. I am hoping that it'll be finished, going by how long I've been writing this version of Suns and Stars, by May, which would be pretty good timing, as I finish uni in April and go back to uni in October, so I could hopefully have written the second draft of Suns and Stars, and maybe even started the second draft of this by the time I go back. But we'll see. Wish me luck.
