I picked it because this weekend, I wrote my version of this scene and I absolutely adore this song, so I was ridiculously happy to have an excuse to listen to it on repeat. It's as simple as that.

I picked it because I listened to that soundtrack a lot in the last week and this song is in the scene that I just finished in my version, Ollie. Plus, it's ridiculously fun to sing along to. :D

Music Monday: 1st April 2013

Hello!

Firstly, a quick update on word count stuff: I'm aiming for 18,000 words on Ollie for Camp WriMo now, instead of 19,000, which is 600 words a day minimum.

Now to business.

This week's song is Lily's Theme by Alexandre Desplat from the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 soundtrack.

I picked it because the album is my current writing music, and this piece is such a chilling and yet amazingly wonderful start to the movie and the album. And it's Harry Potter. Need I say more?

So I was supposed to do this on Monday, but I forgot to do it until now.

Anyway.

First part of the update: Stupid Cupid

I finished it, and it is out in the world after an editor requested it thanks to a Twitter pitch contest. This is basically how I feel about it right now:

Now for my current project: Ollie, which is basically a Middle Grade retelling of Oliver Twist by the wonderful Charles Dickens. I'm doing it for April Camp WriMo and I'm currently aiming for 19,000 words. Which I think I can do, but we shall see.

This week's song is Gotta Be You by One Direction.

I picked it because in the last week, I came up with a new ending for Stupid Cupid and as soon as I heard this the first time after that (while listening to Up All Night!), I realised that this song fitted a huge part of it so, so much that I put it on the playlist.

Also, there is a little something going on with this project which I shall not reveal just yet... You'll just have to wait.

This week's song is One Thing by One Direction.

I picked because this weekend the album that this song is from - Up All Night - was all I listened to the whole time that I was writing. It's also on the playlist for Stupid Cupid because it fits Nicky so damn well at the beginning and he loves these guys. And the song is so bouncy and fun and awesome that usually I'm like this when I listen to it:

Oops, I almost forgot to do this!

This week's song is Boyfriend by Big Time Rush.

I picked it because this weekend, I was working on a very pivotal, important scene that I knew from the very beginning this song fits. It fits it so well in fact that the whole way through that writing process, that was all I listened to. Insane really, isn't it?

I picked it because last night I hit 10K on Stupid Cupid, and this was the song that was playing when I hit it. It's also the playlist for the last chapter and a scene that I can't wait to write. It's such a fun, lively sing with lyrics that fit it so damn well and I bloody love it!

Music Monday: 18th February 2013

Firstly, I apologise for totally disappearing the last two weeks. I forgot and I was ill, which is not a good combination.

Secondly, I'm writing Stupid Cupid again, and Paragon Academy is going to be put on hold for a while, i.e. probably a month or so, and then I'm going to edit a huge amount of it. No, I haven't finished the first draft yet.

Now for the matter in hand.

This week's song is Love is Easy by McFly

I picked it because the Greatest Hits album it's on - Memory Lane - was some of my recent writing music, during loads of sprints using #writeclub on Twitter, during which I wrote loads and loads, and this song, which was recorded for this album, has got to be my favourite McFly song of all time. :D

I picked it because it is on the same album that I mentioned last week, Fearless, which is still my writing music, and I love this song. It's so bubbly, fun, and puts a smile on my face! How can I not love it?
